Goodbye Fake Family

 Friday, September 30, 2011

Since we have been getting our house organized more and more every day, I realized there is one thing I still have left to do.

I must say goodbye to the fake family that has been hanging on my bedroom wall for about a year now.

That's right. We have had pictures hanging up in our bedroom that still have the stock photo left in them.

They were hanging like that on our wall in Virginia, the movers carefully packed them in boxes, and then I put them BACK UP on the wall once we got here to Massachusetts...all with the fake family still on display.

This one is Addison in a couple of years.

The sad thing? I think I am going to miss them once I finally take them down.

Ewww Gross.

Addison and I have had a lot of trouble with food this past year. After a couple of tests and instructions from the doctor, we are now gluten free, dairy free, soy free, and egg free. [Which pretty much means "food free" since at least one of those ingredients can be found in practically everything on the shelf]

Yep. No more Dove Chocolates for me. They have soy in them...

As you can imagine, it is very difficult to eat this way. There have been days this week when I have wanted to throw in the towel, go through a fast food drive through, and decide healthy eating doesn't really matter.

Then I came across this article yesterday...

...and I decided I would keep going.

We've Created a Monster

 Tuesday, September 27, 2011

It took a long time for Addison to start getting her teeth. This was a huge surprise to us since she acted like she was teething for the first 11 months of her life...

http://bostonmamma.blogspot.com/2011/06/can-babies-teeth-for-11-months.html

But she finally got her first tooth while we were on our European vacation in June. This was a little late since most babies we know are getting their first teeth between 6-9 months.

However.

Addison decided to make up for lost time and has been getting tooth after tooth. It has been an incredible 3 months. (And by incredible I mean exhausting and painful for both mommy and baby)

Here are her stats:

10 Months: 0 Teeth
11 Months: 2 Teeth
14 Months: 10 Teeth

So now that she has two of her molars in I am hoping she is going to take a break for a while. I have finally gotten a good nights sleep for three days in a row!

I guess when Addison puts her mind to it, she goes for it. Looks like our little girl is not going to do anything half way. We have no idea where she gets that from...

Why I Don't Post More Often

 Sunday, September 18, 2011

I typically write at least two or three blog posts a week.

Unfortunately, they stay trapped in my head and never actually get typed out or posted. It seems that taking care of Addison all day means I only have enough time left over for eating, sleeping, and showering.

My dear sweet husband was being so wonderful the other night. He said he wanted me to have enough time to do something for myself and offered to feed Addison so I could do some writing. When my fifteen minutes was up, I turned around and found this:

I guess its back to skipping showers if I want to post more often...
